Washington’s High-Risk Employee Proclamation and Other Proclamations You May Have Missed

On July 29, 2020, Governor Jay Inslee expanded workers’ rights under the High-Risk Employee Proclamation that he first put in place back in April, and he extended this proclamation indefinitely while the COVID-19 State of Emergency remains in place.  During this presentation, we will review the new rights that high-risk employees now have; discuss how these rights affect return-to-work decisions; touch on some of the other recent, employment-related proclamations; and leave room for audience questions.

Speaker: Jonathan Minear, Employment Attorney at Jackson Lewis P.C.

Jon is a member of Jackson Lewis’s Disability, Leave, and Health Management Group and advises employers on a wide range of workplace law issues, including protected leave, Washington’s Paid Family and Medical Leave Program, disability accommodation, harassment avoidance, and other topics.  In addition, he represents employers and management litigating these and other workplace disputes in both state and federal courts, both at the trial level and on appeal.  Jon was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine eight years in a row beginning in 2012.
